Find Your Dream Home: Step 4 of 8 to Buying a Home in Birmingham Alabama

Buying a home can be a daunting task. Because, most people only buy a home once every few years (or longer), we wanted to take the time to remind you of the steps involved in buying a home. This way, you can feel like you have some control of this home buying process.

We have identified eight steps to buying a home. These are:
1.
Decide to buy a home.
2.
Find a great real estate consultant.
3.
Secure financing
4. Find your dream home.
5. Make a written offer and negotiate the price.
6. Open an escrow account. (Earnest Money)
7. Have a home inspection.
8. Sign the final documents, get the key, and move into your new home.

Step 4, Find your dream home. We are well on our way now. Our needs and wants have been determined, we have found a great real estate consultant, and we have secured financing so we know what we can get.
Go out and find a home! I know it is not that easy. Since you have met with your real estate consultant and have picked properties that meet your needs to go see, be sure, as you go through homes, to have a copy of the listing and a place to make notes.

By keeping this, you will have a picture of the home as well as some notes that will help you determine which one will be the perfect fit. A word of warning is that you will start to get mixed up once you have seen somewhere between five and ten homes. Keeping these will help you remember all the homes you have seen and help you make the best decision about your next home.

Once you have selected your next home, it will be time to make and offer and negotiate the price with the sellers.
