Birmingham Alabama Home Buying Process: Making It Easier: The Third Simple Thing
Three days ago we began discussing the five simple things you can do to know to make the home buying process easier. Two days ago, we looked at the first simple thing you can do: getting pre-approved. Yesterday, we discussed the second thing you need to know, find a great real estate consultant. Today, we are moving on to the third thing.
The third simple thing you can do to make the home buying process easier is to look before you leap.
Now, what does that mean? It means you need to make yourself familiar somewhat with an area before you commit to make that area your home. You can do this by driving around the neighborhood at different times of day, getting out and walking around. If you see some who look friendly you can even stop and chat with a few of your potential neighbors. Remember though, some people like friendly neighbors and others think of them as nosy.
Some other things you can do to look before you leap is drive to the local grocery store, laundry, or anywhere that you will frequent upon your move. If you have kids you might want to visit nearby schools and see for yourself how the kids behave and how the grounds look.
The point is to see if this is really the type of neighborhood you want to live in BEFORE you make an offer.
Tomorrow and over the next couple days we are going to be discussing the rest of these individually. We will include links to each post in each post. Our goal in sharing this information with you is that it will simplify and ease this process for both you and your family.
